What is a ‘cubic yard’ and how do I decide how many I need to order?

A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet (3 x 3 x 3). That is appoximately 202 gallons.

In some cases, weight is very important as well. Depending on the product, a cubic yard is anywhere from 1.15 to 1.35 tons, so keep that in mind when you’re planning to transport the mulch or stone.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver!

We have a dump trailer for smaller deliveries and our dump trucks depending on the product can take up to 18 yards of product to help you complete your project.

How much does delivery cost?

Costing depends on the delivery address and the amount of product ordered, any of our customer service representatives can assist you with pricing.

Is there a minimum quantity for delivery?

We can deliver as small as 1 yard of mulch or stone.

Do I need to be home when the delivery is made?

No, you don’t need to be at home when we deliver, provided that the area where you need the product dumped is clearly marked.

What type of stone should I use for my driveway?

We offer a variety of stones for driveways; however we do not recommend the smaller 78 stones.

What kind of topsoil do you have?

Our topsoil is a patented engineered blend containing balanced nutrients conducive with premium growth.  Our customers and landscapers have seen great results with their vegetable and flower gardens.

How do I convert tons to yards?

# of ton/1.15 – 1.35 depending on product, just give us a call at 910-803-0363 and our experienced customer service team can help you with the conversions.

What is the best rock for drainage?

Although it can depend on exactly what the conditions are where you need to improve drainage, we recommend our 57 Limestone.

What is the best type of mulch to use?

This is a personal preference as to color, all our mulch is triple shredded, we offer cypress, chocolate and black.

Can you dump the product in my driveway?

We can dump on your driveway however we recommend that our trucks not drive on concrete driveways.  Our trucks fully loaded can weigh 80,000 pounds.  A signed waiver will be required to dump on your concrete driveway.

What is the size difference between 57 and 78 stone?

57 stone is a larger stone – varying from ¾ to 1 ¼ inches, whereas the 78 stone is a much smaller stone (what we refer to as “pea gravel”).

What is the difference between granite, slate and limestone?

Granite is a harder stone.  Slate is an angular cut stone and limestone is more porous in nature.

Do you have play sand?

We have mortar sand and fill sand – we recommend mortar sand or a combination of both.

What is the best sand to put underneath our pool?

We recommend mortar sand as it is a finer, screened sand.

Do you have pine straw and how do I determine how much I need?

Yes we carry long leaf pine in large bales –   each bale will cover approximately 40 – 50  square feet with the recommended 2-3 inches.

Do you carry bulk product?

Yes, we offer multiple products in 27 cubic ft bags, call ahead at 910-803-0363 to place your order and we will have them ready when you arrive.
