What is a ‘cubic yard’ and how do I decide how many I need to order?

A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet (3 x 3 x 3). That is appoximately 202 gallons.

In some cases, weight is very important as well. Depending on the product, a cubic yard is anywhere from 1.15 to 1.35 tons, so keep that in mind when you’re planning to transport the mulch or stone.

We have a dump trailer for smaller deliveries and our dump trucks depending on the product can take up to 18 yards of product to help you complete your project.

How much does delivery cost?

Costing depends on the delivery address and the amount of product ordered, any of our customer service representatives can assist you with pricing.

Is there a minimum quantity for delivery?

We can deliver as small as 1 yard of mulch or stone.

What type of stone should I use for my driveway?

We offer a variety of stones for driveways; however we do not recommend the smaller 78 stones.

What is the best rock for drainage?

Although it can depend on exactly what the conditions are where you need to improve drainage, we recommend our 57 Limestone.

What is the size difference between 57 and 78 stone?

57 stone is a larger stone – varying from ¾ to 1 ¼ inches, whereas the 78 stone is a much smaller stone (what we refer to as “pea gravel”).

What is the difference between granite, slate and limestone?

Granite is a harder stone.  Slate is an angular cut stone and limestone is more porous in nature.
